Unneccisary IMO, as long as you don't get errors in the burn, all drives turn out the same quality. What you need is to buy high quality discs. Just get a nice Sony, Lite-On, or such in the $60-$80 range. (Not the cheap crap), but that, that's just overkill, plus slot loading is a major downside, I learned that one the hard way.
