Well, there are a lot of other factors. For one, it has that faster FSB we talked about, second, it has a lot more level one cache, third, it performs more operations per clock cycle, and has a better pipeline system. It's not better at everything, it beats that 3.4 in more than the 3.4 beats it, but there are areas where the worse of the two will pull out a victory. Remember, clock speed is not so important, that's why the new conroes are going lower clocks, they're focusing more on Operations per clock cycle, better pipelines, and the like. MHz was just a marketing tactic Intel used because they're specifically designed Netburst architecture could reach high speeds with low efficiency (heat, and OPC), just so they'd have good looking numbers, I'm glad Otelini and crew moved away from that philosohy.
