Same. For my $1500 I could get something twice as good now. But prices have been dropping alot lately.

well when did you get it? and i think you did spend too much on it. in Computer Specs 101 you could have gotten a way better system. like a x2 4200, the 7800gt or X1800XT and up to 2gb of ram.

It all depends on when you bought your computer. I've been using the same P3 733 Mhz computer for around 6 years now. I bought it for $1500 usd, did I get ripped off? No, I didn't because at that time $1500 was roughly the going rate for the computer package I bought. The same concept obviously applies to individual components.
I've been wanting to buy a new computer for the last 3 years or so, but have been short of money for what I wanted and have put it off. While it sucks that I've had to wait this long for a new (let alone decent) computer, since I'm building one very soon....the upside of it is that I could buy an absolutely crazy system for $1500 compared to the one I've had. Actually I'll be spending roughly $700 for everything besides a monitor and mouse, still will be an insane performance jump. ($1500 and $700 is about the same thing for a comp nowadays compared to one from 6 years ago imo - at least it's in the same DIMENSION) ![]() Although I wish I could build a new computer and/or upgrade a few times per year like some people, its also true that doing this seems almost like a waste of money in some situations.
