Default Can anybody help me with my PS2?

I'm having problems getting my games to work. But once the game starts rolling, then there is no problem at all. I tried cleaning the lens, but I don't think lens is the problem. Anybody got any suggestion??

Probably not much you can do...it just sounds like a failing drive. I've seen replacement parts on ebay, or you might even be able to find a whole unit for pretty cheap... Once the PS3 comes out, if you're still interested, prices should drop pretty nicely.

I think you're right, Other One. Didn't think about it before. Anyway, I'll check around some more. Thanks, man

The PS2 does not have a DRIVE... I would have said the sytem is failing...

Hard drives are added aftermarket.

I had that same problem with a ps2 and a sega dreamcast. First try cleaning it out good with some compressed air and if that doesn't work take it to someone who repairs ps2s. When my dreamcast wouldn't work I cleaned it out good and that didn't work so I took it somewhere and they said the headers or something like that just needed to be cleaned so they cleaned it for 10-20 dollars. you should try that first its cheaper than getting a new one on ebay probably.

Yes, I meant CD drive, though it's not hard to add harddrives from what I've heard, even without the special crap you're suppose to buy.

And I'm a freaking GUY! Look at my avitar! MALE!
