Unhappy Need for Speed: Most Wanted

Hi there all. I have a problem where my game plays all jumpy and it is hard to play due to freezing and frame jumping. I am sure it has something to do with the processor, as I have a dual core Penitum 930, and it played fine on a single core processor I used earlier. I think I heard something about setting Affinity to one core? But how do I set it so that it always starts on only one core? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
