Question A difficult printer prob

Hye,

I have a HP deskjet 656c.Sometimes when i am printing some stuff the printer after printing a few pages goes haywire and starts printing garbage like
@@@###$&
about two or three lines on a page and as a result i have restart printing form where the printer went beserk. For this i need to restart the printer as cancelling the doc from the printer menu does not seem to delete it.
I also contacted HP people but to no avail.
The problem seems to be more prominent when a couple docs are in the q.How many docs should i keep in q.

Add info:The printer i am using right now is a replaced one.the previous one also had the same prob which at that time also was unsolved. But one day while test printing the manufacters name or something like that came out to be diff.On contacing the HP service center i came to know the EPROM or somethiong like that had somehow been reset but being in the warranty period i got a replacement.

The printer is connected to the computer with USB or parallel cable?

Try connecting it with a parallel cable. I had once a problem with an Epson printer that didn't print well when connected to USB.
