what OS do you have ?
what type of pc pent 2, 3, 4, AMD ?
what card ????

if you have one gig already it probably will not. If your pc is starting to sloooooow down, could be infected.

oh i just checked you have a pent 4, 2.6 gig. what are you doing thay you need that much ram
if win 2000 or xp, do a " ctrl + alt + del " then click task manager, then performance, you should see cpu usage,,, if you have hyper threading you will see a split screen. With nothing running, the usage should be almost zero, if you are seeing 10 - 30 % or higher it might mean unwelcomed guests that are zapping your resources. the graph bellow is you page file.
i still want to know about this "card"

Is that you in your Avatar ?

if you are running programs that use up the 1gig of ram you have in your system, then yes the 256mb should help. but it wont make much difference if you are not using the 1gig up. it might be worth putting it in anayway...

you can use the extra 256 as a RAM disk or RAM drive. its like a temporary HDD kind of
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ram_disk
you get easy access to storage faster but once you turn off the comp it gets erased.
