Hi, I got a real fast comp, once the loading screen is over, it takes like 2
sec to be on the desktop ready to be used.. 2700mhz and real good memory 1 Go The problem is that my windows loading screen take like 45-60 sec to go out there's a 30 sec that my HDD led isnt even working. My friend has about the same as me and it takes only 5 sec ![]() I reinstalled several time windows on this comp and still have the same prob Im working hard to overclock it and have big performance, but cant even start fast .. |

there's a bunch of things you can do to try to cut down on the time, dunno how much faster it will be though: defrag, uninstall programs you don't use, keep programs you don't absolutely need from starting on startup, clean the registry, update windows, type services.msc in the run box and disable things that shouldn't be there (you can also disable things like fast user switching which will help too, but be careful with disabling windows compnents unless you're sure about them), hopefully some of these will help

Ok, ty for replies, none of what u said can help me (services, etc.) because its the loading screen, im not in windows. And btw, I just reinstalled windows and checked the boot things and services, i run bootvis, defrag, etc. It does nothing
Now, to spacedude, yes I do have one sata. My last windows install was made on my sata and my backup drive was an IDE. Since I tought it was the problem, I installed my windows on my IDE and my Sata becomes my backup. Nothing's changed. Also, I tried disconnecting my sata -> same boot time It's frustating, My HDD LED can be up for liek 45 seconds whitout even flashing and i hear no sound coming from the PC, same thing as if it was frozen Sigh Last edited by bobatomik; 03-08-2006 at 03:57 PM. |

If you use a modem instead of broadband to connect to the internet, go into your BIOS and disable your onboard LAN, otherwise Windows will try to load and waste time searching for a network to connect to. If you're using broadband, make sure your LAN settings are okay.

Hmm, try going into the BIOS and changing the boot order, put the hard drive at the very top of the list. it could be going and searching the CD drives and everything before loading the HD. Just an idea.
