Exclamation HP March Specials for members of the site

NOTE: If there is anything that you are looking for not mentioned here (servers, storage, desktops, etc.), PM me, or EMail me. Also, I have updated this thread numerous times already and there are more products than those mentioned in this first post. Notebooks and printers are on this page. I will put some servers on the next page, as well. These products listed are not the entirety of what we have FS. They are just examples with prices. For those interested in desktops, printers, or anything else, just ask. I see so far 10 votes (1/2 for Imaging and Printing) but only two people are talking to me. I did not make it a public poll so I don't know who else has responded on the poll

OK guys, here is the first set of specials we are having:

To address the poll more directly, I personally might be interested in upper eschelon laserjets whether they be color or BW. Currently running LJ 4000s here wouldnt mind either a second or a complement to it but anything worthy is generally uber-expensive.

There are also deals on inkjets, but I won't bother posting them unless someone expresses interest in them, including Photosmart printers (obviously for printing photos)

For inkjets for out on-the-spot photoshoots we use an Epson .... i am intrigued by the LJ4345 however (not at all caring for any of the embedded scan, read, etc crap ... just the printer). Two questions tho:
1. What other BW and CL LJs in that performance ballpark are worth considering
2. How much memory ships with those printers? And what's the max?

So you have an idea of the requirements, once a year I cycle through about 150x600 (90,000) sheets of paper (sometimes more) in a matter of days. Currently we've got four LJ4000s to the task (we used to use a photocopier but LJ is arguably faster + maintainence costs lower). So concerns revolve around high-stress performance as well as maintainence costs ... I can lookup all the info myself, just looking for model #s really.

Am I reading this correct - that you print up to 100,000 sheets in a matter of days once a year? Like for an annual report or something? If I read this correctly, the 4345's print speed is unmatched. 45 ppm is blindingly fast, and I personally think it would work in replacement of your 4000s. Are you trying to consolidate your printers? If so, we might be interested in buying the 4000s back from you if you do get another/more printer(s).
I know I haven't provided you with a whole lot of in depth answers, but I am not the IPG specialist for our company (Curtis). When he gets back to the office tomorrow, I will get with him and figure out a couple of solutions. In the mean time, any background info on what you are wanting to do with the printer(s) would be helpful. Curt is not one of those cut-throat salespeople who would tell you anything to make the sale. He will honestly propose to you what he would genuinely do in your situation.

EDIT: Also, if you are interested, we may have some decent used LJs. I know a few months ago we sold a 4345mfp that was used as a demo unit for much less than the MSRP on it. All used printers (obviously) are opened up to be dusted out, in addition to replacement of all rollers (pickup, transfer, etc.), separation pads, and the fusers are checked, and replaced if they look to be going bad. Also, the used printers are cleaned so they look as new as can be. All used parts have a warranty from us

Well we're printing books, textbooks to be precise. It's far cheaper to do virtually everything in-house rather than send it out. As for speed I'm not horribly concerned about that, worst case, start it another day ... but I'm more concerned about raw endurance.... the printers are going to be going 24x7 nonstop until they finish ... ok maybe a 15 minute break every 6 hours. So far the 4000s are holding up decently well but it looks like its getting close the time to upgrade.

The second paramater that I'm looking for is to ensure that 20 and 24lb paper doesnt curl too much .. punching out 45ppm is nice until you realize that after a thousand pages or so all the sheets come out curled due to the heat (yes that's why you turn them off to let them cool or you run them in superchilled AC room however this isnt always a possibility ... which is why it's nice to have a quad of printers ... you have rotating breaks)

As of yet, dont stress too much, the printing cycle will come around in august (for the new term starting in september). As for cut-throat, I'm not concerned ... I've no problem saying no

The thought of buying back my 4000s is tempting however but again, not too concerned until we hit the summer (the book hasnt even been revised yet heh)

Don't forget, everybody. For all your consumables (ink, toner) for your printers, we recently changed our consumables pricing. We now offer better pricing on ALL HP consumables than CDW. I trust everyone knows who CDW is, but if not, they're kinda like the IT Wal-Mart (just an analogy)

Praetor - I have talked to Curtis and since I don't know another way to get ahold of you, here is a solution. He says the LJ 4200 would be your best solution. The 4200 is basically the best 'work-horse' that we offer for your kind of application.
We have one refurbished 4200 in stock. It costs $799 with 30 day warranty and new toner. As said before, the refurbished ones tend to have a new or barely used fuser, and brand new rollers, separation pads, etc. Each is tested for print quality, alignment, and full functionality of all parts.
The reason this would be an ideal solution for you follows: It has the same duty cycle as your 4000s do, but prints much faster. The 4200 prints 35ppm while the 4000 prints 17ppm. I also mentioned to him possibly buying back the 4000s, but that is a discussion for EMail rather than on the forum, I think.
