Default Wifey Hates XP Media Edition.......

She just bought an HP a1310n from office depot, it has a SATA 200 gig hard drive, 16X DVD Burner, and 1 Gig of Ram,onboard video onboard sound
Great PC!!! With one exception....She Hates XP Media Edition... She wants me to wipe her hard drive and install XP Pro on there for her...
My Question is this ...How do I "Wipe " the SATA Hard drive? Ive never dealt with Sata before and Im just a bit nervous about it...There are two partitions one for system "Backup" and the larger partition for the os...etc...

Thanks , GALAXY

Sata will work the same and act the same as an IDE/ATA harddrive like your used to, with a few exceptions.

...wow, I was under the impression that XP MCE was XP Pro plus the media center application, additional codecs and a new desktop theme....

Keep in mind wiping out the OS it shipped with and installing another one will void all support on it and might void the warranty.

nothing you need to worry about in your situation most likely, the only thing you might have to do is install the sata drivers, but I don't think you'll need to
