Check out this help guide from Samsung:

I didn't see anything that said it was directly connectable to a computer, but did you format the disk be fore you tried to burn to it. Try doing that and make sure you're using -R format.

1. Can you format a DVD R?
2. How do you do that?
3. How do I know if its + or -. As I lost the sleve that came with my spindle. And I have 97 of them left lol.
