Default Best with 1600$ budget

After reading alot and learning more I came up with building a computer. I still don't know much about what parts i will need and such i just know what i want.
I would like a fast computer of course but not towards just gaming or work. I would like to be able to play some games but it wont be hardcore because i have xbox 360. I usually didnt game much because slow comp so now ill probably like it more with a faster one. I will be working with programs like cs2, studio max, and flash animation. So should i go AMD or Pentium? I would also like a dual dvd r burner, at least thats what i think its called. If you guys/girls have good ideas it would be very helpful.

Thanks

1. Do you need a monitor, keyboard, mouse, or speakers?

2. With a 1600$ budget u can fit in a dual core processor, so i would go with the AMD X2 series.

See the preface which tells you how to use the very simple to read page. If you cant figure that part out, I'd reccomend a $1600 Dell machine

No worries Thats what the forum is for.

(with my previous comment I was replying to an inferred question "what would you get from the systems specd in the 101" ... which is an obvious answer ... "the best you can afford") BUt yeah, thats my suggestion

You will probably be looking at the "general purpose machine" (i.e., see the Preface)
