Default how do i speed the downloads up...

when using bittorent, my download speed is quite slow (like anywhere from 1-5kbs a second) and it says my download/upload speed may be turned on low settings (itr recommends setting it to 80-90% of internet speeds)...the problem is i have no idea where this setting is for changing the speeds and i was wondering if anyone here did

Not sure what program your using, but if your connecting to the internet through a router, there are procedures to open certain ports to allow for faster downloads.

Otherwise, Win XP has its own firewall which could also be blocking ports and not allowing faster downloads.

Or it could just be the program that your using. My suggestion would be Bit Comet (careful with this one, cuz some trackers block bitComet) or try uTorrent.

what bittorrent client are you using? usually the settings are somewhere in a tab called downloads, or network or something like that. just look for global upload rate. it could also be the number of seeds for the torrent.. if its less than 20 or so, thats probably why you're downloading at that speed. try finding a torrent with 50+ seeders
