Default External Hard Drive Questions

Ok I just posted about SATA and USB 2.0 and got response for that. But was searching around and been seeing alot about 1394 being much faster and better for external hard drives then USB 2.0.

So I was thinking of going with a External Hard Drive Case SATA to 1394.

But this is hard to find newegg.com dosen't have any of them.

Mabye someone can give me some advice on what is the best combo for external hard drives. If you wanted something that you can move around with you. So either USB 2.0 or 1394.

SATA to USB 2.0?
SATA to 1394?
IDE to USB 2.0?
IDE to 1394?

Those right there are really a twister for me I been looking around at them at the transfer speeds but it would be nice for someone to put this in a easy post me for.

Thanks!

there was a post yesterday on sata vs ide and like a week ago on firewire vs usb, but anyways, of usb and firewire, typically firewire is faster, though there's a little wiggle room in there. And as far as sata/ide, your speed is going to be limited by the firewire or usb anyways, so shouldn't matter, whichever's easier to do
