get your hardisk and install it onto anyother pc ... if u;re using window xp ... then u gonna install it on a motherboard same brand as your old mobo .. hopefully your hardisk is not damage .. but as what u said .. it cant turn on .. most likely your PSU n mobo is burn ... you should be able to get your data back ...

Burblock is right, get the hard drive out of that pc and into another. And let's hope this little lesson teaches the wisdom of regularly backing up your data elsewhere in case of emergencies!

I'd bet it's just the powersupply. Very rarely does EVERYTHING inside he computer suddenly (an at the same time) just die. If your power supply has died, nothing will work...until you replace it. If it's worth it go buy a new one, or find a similiar one and just borrow it temporarily until you transfer the rest of your data.

Sorry, didnt' realize that you were in the process of doing that.I had posted elsewhere that a friend's pc kinda died like that, and at a minimum, the keyboard, mouse, CPU, and motherboard all did get destroyed when the PSU quit. Still it'd be worth trying to move the HD to another pc just to see if you can get your data off. If that doesn't work, then my guess is that you're SOL. I'm sorry. Tom

the only thing i could think of is take the hdd out and bring it to a computer repair man and ask him to retrieve the files and put it on a dvd disk, or a flash drive.
