Default weird HD problem

So like 2 weeks ago I uninstalled splinter cell chaos theory and when it finished uninstalling I was missing like 400 mb worth of space from my hd, so I reinstalled and then uninstalled and it didnt fix the problem. 5 days ago I had 66.3 gb's of memory and today I have 65.6 gb's of memory some how 700 mb's of memory have disappeared without me doing anything, I havent installed or downloaded anything that large. Whats going with my hard disk, and how can I regain my hd space?

sounds like it may be system restore points, doesn't windows creat one everytime you install a new program or uninstall one? Thought i might throw that possibility out there.

u could try a format, i'm not sure how much you'd gain from compressing your files i've never had good luck with compressing files

restore points are relatively small.

as for the missing space, i wouldnt worry about it...eventually im sure its going to get written over anyway. chances are, you have it, its just not showing up.

the thing is in diskeeper its showing that I have 67 gb's right now so Im sure its just not showing it correctly. Its nothing really to worry about, if I was down to like 5 gb's Id worry but I got plenty of space left.
