dell ps2 mouse

hey everyone my dell ps2 mouse seems to stop working
on my dell dimension 8200 running windows xp, but when i plugged it in my compaq armada e500 it works fine.I've tried restarting teh pc and also booting in safe mode....any suggestions.....thankz.

1. Is the mouse dead?
2. Dust?
3. Check on a different comp

Could be a problem with your ps2 port? Other ps2 mouse works on that computer? You can try also a ps2/USB adapter to connect that mouse.
