Putting a/some fan(s) into the cupboard is a VERY good idea. Ideally, you want one as an intake at the front, and an exhaust at the back. No point having an exhaust if air cant get INTO the cabinet.
I would also suggest turning off the side fan. The air's being blown straight out int the side, so its going to spread out. It's going to spread up, down, right and left. The warm air that goes left simply gets sucked back in.
