Default capture card

hey,
i have a digital camcorder and i can upload videos off of that onto my computer using a fire wire I want to get the videos off of my old camera, it a hi8. i need some sort of capure card. im looking for the kind that you put in the slots on the back of the tower with the red yellow and white holes that you can plug the camera into. i saw something in a store that was a little box with the 3 holes and it had a usb cable attatched. im thinking the quality wouldnt be as good if i used this but im not sure. im trying to somethingfor no more than $40. im not looking for perfect quality or anything so i dont need anything fancy. just a way to get the videos on with them looking crappy.
any suggestions / help would be appreciated .,thanks

Dude, why not just go though the input on the digital camcorder then from the digital camcorder though firewire The quality would be MUCH MUCH better than any capture card you could find for $40
