Default separate pci x16 slot?

Has anyone ever heared of a PCIex16 slot (the actual slot its self, individually, not attached to the motherboard, and ready to be soldered on) available for purchase anywhere?

I ask because there are many motherboards with chipsets that support an x16 graphics interface, and have solderpoints for the slot, but dont have the actual connector.

Many thanks

I've never heard of that, can you post some examples of the motherboards you're refering to. I would think it would have to be manufactured on the board itself.
