Default digital camera working as a webcam?

is it true that all digital cameras can work as a webcam? i bought what i think is a fujifilm digital camera, don't know how to get it working as a digital camera, is it possible? or will i have to buy a webcam seperate?

Some can stream, but most don't. When they're hooked up to the PC, they strictly act as data devices.
