I am having a problem with my computer and exporer. My computer (which is not on-line) peaks with explorer. While I only have one main program running using any large CPU space, explorer while running in the background jumps to 80% usage, and freezes up computer. I tend to dismiss virus becouse it isn't on-line, although I haven't ruled it out.
any ideas??? |

Every now and then, when transferring a bunch of small files from one hard drive to the other, when I think I'm finished, I find I can't close any of the windows, and Task Manager says explorer.exe is taking up 100% of the CPU. This has gone on no matter what I do for almost two years. You're not alone; it drives me nuts. The only way I know to stop it is to reboot. It was worse when I updated my chipset drivers.
