when i took earth science in college we went over air movement to tempurature. and one of the things he said was in order to get a colder temp you need less air causing the molecules to be further apart creating less friction therefore less heat or in this case tempuratue. now if you just have air flow the yes it is going to get newer cooler fresher air into the cubby but it wont get its maximum low tempurature. now inside a computer you need to have air flow for so it can get air out of every little part of the case. but with such a set object like the rectangular cubby with a smaller rectangle (the computer) in it it would be just as good to just have soley an exhaust. now remember the cubby is still going to get fresh air. the door on the front isnt completely sealed so it will have air from the crack coming into the cubby. i think in this case i will try just the exhaust in the back of my desk. so what im asking is if anyone knows if they make a cable that would be longer for a fan, or should i just have my friend make extend it for me? im going to build a wood box that matches my desk underneith a shelf that will have the fan controller in it. so i need the cable to go from the power supply, to the fan and to the fan controller. it seems like it would be easier to control with a fan controller rather than a program like speedfan or something. for more control on the go. but please let me know about that cable. thank you.
EDIT: i just thought of another great example of how pressure and temp relate. for example you get yourself in death valley in california. the average summer high is about id say anywhere from 110-115 or so, either way HOT partly it has to do with the fact that the pressure is so high at that location. now climb up some mountain where there will be very little air. the molecules are going to be further apart. so its going to be MUCH cooler. just another example for you tho.
