Default 6600GT in ATI-terms?

Hello,

Which ATI card is the closest match to Nvidias 6600GT?

Which one do you prefer?

Thanks,
ursinus

Hi,

practically I'm about to choose one video card of these ones below. Now I would like to ask you which one you'd choose

A) for sirious First Person Playing
B) for a player who prefers games such as Civilization, Champion Ship Manager, NHL 2000 -series etc.
C) for office use (internet, creating homepages, applications such as Word, Excel etc.)

Better to have PCI-E if MODO supports it, right? And how about option "TV-IN", or is this common with LCD monitors... or does how do you do the trick?

Please let me know,
ursinus

well, first of all, what's your budget?

And yeah, it'll be better to get a pci-e motherboard. video in/video out, or VIVO, basically acts like a capture card, but with lower quality.

As steve said, the 6600 would be comparable to the x700, and the 6800 would be comparable to an x850.

The X1600Pro is also comparable to the 6600GT. Does your mobo support PCI-E? What's your budget?

You could also get a 6800 which would definently out perform the 6600. You can get one for under 200 USD.

"serious first person gaming" what games exactly?
doom 3 won't play very well with anything as slow as a 6600gt at higher qualities.
get like... a 6800gs
