Limewire is completly legal, downloading copyrighted stuff is illegal.

and what do you mean theres the peoples names?

No, I'm quite sure downloading copywrited stuff is illegal. Hell, about anything involving music now is illegal

downloading ang uplaoding copyrighted medi IS illegal, there is no two ways about it, down and up = ILLEGAL.

limewire is legal, its supposed to be used for file sharing of non copyrighted documents, such as home movies or you 10th grade essay you wrote etc....

eh... that has to be a fairly new law then... i remember i was checking for the exact law at my friends house concerning copyrights
downloading is still perfectly leagle unless they changed the law...
(make sure u make it impossible to share you files... cus once you distribute copyrighted material you are open for getting sued)
at least that is the law in america ... sucks if it is illeagle in ur country...

It really depends on where you live for specific legislation. However in general terms downloading copyrighted stuff is illegal except where the source you are downloading it from has obtained permission of the copyright owner to provide you with a copy. This rules out most peer-2-peer networks, except in instances where original material is being uploaded.

It just so happens that most courts jump on uploaders much more than downloaders.

I belive he is correct when saying only sharing and uploading is illegal, I recall the same law.
