I just installed a socket 754 sempron 2800+ and the cpu temps ranging from 52 and 55 degrees. I’m not to sure if these hot temps are because I might have put the HSF on backwards of the thermal past on the bottom of the cpu was to old. I try to remove the HSF but I could not seem to remove it. I don’t have much experience with socket 754 HSF so I don't no how to properly remove it. Another thing I notices was the cpu fan was only turning 2700RPms I believe a stock cpu fan should go faster then that.

AMDs can handle a good bit of heat... That's a tad warm, but it's not too much...
I really don't think you could put the heatsync on backwards, if it's even possible... I think most now will work any way, so if it's on, it's on. Did you use any thermal paste? As for the fan, your motherboard is probably limiting it to keep it more quiet. I feel sure there's a way to crank it up. Maybe disable cool and quiet?

Ok I’ll look into the cool and quite and I'm using the thermal paste that came with the HFS. I might switch to Antec silver if I can get the HSF off.
What would be a good turn off tempter for this cpu right now I have it set to 60.
