Hi,
Would appreciate someones help on this. I just bought a very good used Thinkpad T20 Notebook (Windows 2000, 512 RAM, 700 MHZ, Penitum 3, 15 gigs) for $300 inc. shipping that came with new Netgear MA521 card & software which offers 802.11b wireless access with 802.11g compatibility, Speeds up to 11 Mbps, 300 feet range 40/64 bit128-bit Wired Equivalency Protection (WEP) & Time Warner (Roadrunner Broadband)my cable company uses for free D Link G 54 Wireless G Notebook Adapter & software which offers 802.11g wireless service, 54 Mbps & bigger range. I live in an apartment & the room where I will be using my laptop will be 25 geet from the router modem which will be hardwired into my desktop. I will be using my laptop on for surfing the web. Given that will the D Link G 54 802.11g Wireless card make internet surfing alot faster then the Netgear MA 521 802.11b Wireless card? Any options/info appreciated. Thanks |

Heya, it depends very much on the speed of the internet source. However, ypu would most likely not notice any difference whatsoever between G and B.
