Default How to remove 'blank' desktop background

Hello all,

i have a Sony Vaio (PCG K86P) and am using Windows XP.....i am trying to install a suitable background for my desktop but repeated attempts to do so via my control panel(im only installing desktop from the choices i have available via 'display' in control panel) has failed....the screen is currently white/blank and im not sure why this is so...i certainly did not choose the current 'background'.

on checking the 'properties' of this background, there is reference to the followinf URL: 'file://C:\WINDOWS\warnhp.html'....im not sure what this means or if this reveals something.

any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

regards,

sam
