I put some new thermal greese on my cpu and i tried a new method of adding it and i turned on my pc booted windows and my CPU was 88c!! So i did an emergency turn off.. and re added now its 25 - 32 idle again
But the thing is have I in anyway damaged it?Its and intel 650 3.4ghz 2MB L2 Cache (LGA775) thanks!

I bet it's fine as long as it wasnt on that hot for a while, next time check the temp in BIOS first.

LOL no its just a dude that goes DANGER - DANGER!... DANGER - DANGER!... lol
in total i have had 3 issues 2 when it went to 66c - my fault and this one at 88. I turn them off after about 10 secs though. Seems to be "better" though maybe i throtted it at 66c before and this has fixed it... weird.
