Because Windows XP 64-Bit Edition requires entirely new hardware, there will be no upgrade from 32-bit operating systems to Windows XP 64-Bit Edition. Windows XP 64-Bit Edition will be available through OEMs who offer Itanium-based hardware.
So you need a new disk ;-).. Tiss rather simple really.. all you need to do is get your hands on a bootable copy and make sure your bios is set up and do a full instal. You do know that the 64bit is beta and is not recommended to instal righ now if your a gammer. As a matter of fact unless you have some 64bit software that you'd like to run it's pretty much pointless as 32 bit apps will run better on a 32bit operating system.

I might also mention that with your machine you should not have to worry about poor performance unless something is not configured properly or you've lots of spyware and such slowing it down.

Well the exact problem is that whilst playing Call of Duty game online ill be playing ok then suddenly my ping will go to 999 (is normally 30-50) for about 5 seconds then it goes ok but happens again later. Iver had my internet and all my componenets checked and they are fine. I was told its my operating system but ive tried 2 copies of windows xp and both have same results. any ideas?
Also why is this? "You do know that the 64bit is beta and is not recommended to instal righ now if your a gammer." it not run games or something on 64bit?

A key feature of Windows XP 64-Bit Edition is its ability to run 32-bit Windows-based applications unmodified on the 64-bit platform. To enable this capability, Microsoft has added a new 32-bit subsystem to Windows XP 64-Bit Edition. This subsystem—Windows on Windows 64—provides the 32-bit Windows services needed for applications to run properly even if they are not 64-bit. (Note: This subsystem does not support 16-bit applications.)
. Windows on Windows 64 is a 32-bit Windows subsystem that allows you to run 32 bit applications on 64-bit Windows. Because 32-bit applications run in an emulation mode, Microsoft recommends running 32-bit applications on 32-bit hardware for optimal performance. Copy pasted from Microsoft website
