I don't know what's best for my needs... I play games (Far Cry, Morrowind, etc...) but I also use apps. What's best??

Soooooooooooooooo basicly for the average home user I'd say it comes down to price and availability. AMD is usualy cheaper... Both AMD and Intel are solid processers.

So, what's better:
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ : 2.0 GHz, 512 Ko L2 Cache Intel Pentium 4C 3.0 Ghz: Socket 478 0.13 micron FSB800 (or should I wait for the massive EE sale?) Intel Pentium 4E (Prescott) 3.2 Ghz: Socket 478 0.09 micron FSB800 (or should I wait for the massive EE sale?) They all cost the same.

i would go for the AMD although the prescott processors are good, you will probably encounter some problems with them (i.e colling troubles)

- Athlon64-3200: limited by its lack of dual channel support - P4E: clock-for-clock, much less efficient than the P4C Odds are there wont be a massive EE sale anytime soon ![]()
