Here is one Preator made previously. Knock out half the RAM. Some of those hard drives and a few other things and you got a nice start.

Wait for a few more months. I know alot of people don't like to wait but there are going to be some major price drops and some better hardware that is going to be coming out. The new intel prcoessor is going to be atleast a 20-40% increase over the FX-60 and it is going to be around 300-400 which would be atleast a good $700 saveings from getting the FX-60. Read reviews that is the best thing i can tell you. Learn your system you want to build and you well be able to know what it can do and what it can't do.
Don't spend that full 4k on that computer, Sure it would make a powerful computer don't get me wrong but this is really a bad time to be puting that much in a computer, Windows Vista is sopuse to be hitting the markets near the end of the year and you well need DX10 to run it so if you want to buy video cards which only support DX9 ($300 each video card that would be atleast 300-600 that you lose in less then a year). It is better to wait and see what happens rather then jsut spending all of it. If you save atleast say 2k out for upgrades you well be better in the long run. You can do alot with jsut 2k and it well do what you want and more. unless your rich and you can aford to lose alot of money and you can pay for upgrades within a year or so then go for it. Other then that i would wait and see what happens don't go all out on this computer until you know for sure what you are doing and what you want to do and what you want to spend. I am sure you have more important things to spend you money on besides a 4k computer. That is jsut stupid to spend that much on a computer. |

Watever you do, dont go any buy 2 7900gtx now.
I also agree that you might want to wait for Conroe to be realesed or AM2. With that budget you can some new powerful processing power.

I'd normally say get an Opteron 280, but most socket 940 mobo's don't support SLI. In this situation I vouch for an FX-60 and dual 7900GTX's, 4 GB of DDR500 RAM, and maybe 3 500 GB drives in RAID 5.
