Default probs

2.64ghz will give me errors in prime95. any higher, and windows won't boot.
the thing is, i can run ANY application at ANY time, even max out my processors, and no errors or anything.
why does prime95 give me these errors if nothing else does?
also, in order to improve stability do i only need to lower heat, or is it just unstable because its clocked too high? i checked and heat never exceeded 48C, according to AMD's temperature tool downloaded from their website.

you could just chance it and just ignore it. after all its only Prime95 thats giving your trouble. but i wouldnt recommend that. just stay on the safe side and lower the clock untill prime95 is stable.

well there is an issue here, and a few thing should be considered;
firstly downclock your system to stock level, run prime95 over night and see if you're error free

then consider that you may need to up the vcore to straighten out the problems.

also bear in mind that just because your os hasn;t crashed through instability yet doesn;t mean it wont at the most annoying point possible, it's just murphy's law... and is as consitant if not more so than Moores law

well i did up the Vcore... 100mV to get to 2.64ghz. 125mV won't let my computer boot. its stable at 2.4ghz and stock Vcore (been testing since last night, two instances of prime95 because its dual core)
so far, nothing went wrong so i assume its stable but im letting it run while im at school.
you think it might be more stable at 100mV at like 2.6ghz? ill try that later

well, seems to be stable at 2.5ghz (unstable at 2.56ghz) with i believe... 100mV increase. maybe i'll get an extra 140mhz out of it, but temps shot way up, do you think its worth all the extra heat when i've got a good o/c of 400mhz already?
