System restore is your friend, just roll it back a day before you did it!

system restore wont do a thing when you change the internal software on a piece of hardware.
are you sure you followed all of the instructions for the flashing procedure? i know that many manufacturers specift that the drive must be in the master position before flashing.
also, have a look in the bios to see if its detected there.
if you still dont have any luck try the flashing procedure again

Try it anyway...I downloaded the wrong audio driver update before and as a result it would not recognise my audio card and I just rolled it back one day and everything was good to go

At this point in time ya got nothing to loose by trying.

the firmware has nothing to do with drivers... by flashing the firmware you are actually changing the hardware

I can't reflash it if it isn't detected... But I'll try putting it to master.
