Default Network and wireless question

Hello all,
WEll I have a Desktop PC and a laptop PC,
I have also a DLink router between them, the internet is on the desktop PC and so I enable sharing the internet, my question is that :
can I enable file sharing between them?

The details:

Make sure both pcs are in the same workgroup.

browse to each my via my network places>entire network>microsoft windows network>"your workgroup"

or use the \\computername or \\localip to open a folder which you have shared....

To share a folder gith click on it and click sharing...

to make them all on the same work group,. then right click on my computer, and then select them from the same Domain right?
