HELP! Radeon 9800 128MB Keep Restarting Game

Hi

I have Radeon 9800 128MB video card. This card is probbaly around 1-2 years old. I've been using it in my Pentium 4 - 2.66Gighz Computer for about 1-2 months now and everything seems fine. The computer that I have is Brand new, It's custom built and everything is new in there except for the video card. When I went to update the drivers today, many of my games would not work (Doom 3, FEAR etc...). So I switched back to the old drivers, and it still does not work. What happens is whenever I go into FEAR, I get to the very end of the loading, and before the game start, the computer would freeze into a black screen. With Doom 3, I see Mars spinning (Main menu) for about 1-3 second and the game crash to a black screen. With Starcraft, I got to play the game for about 30 minute and it the screen goes rainbow and than freezes. I don't have any problem surfing the net, or viewing pictures. But any games that are graphic intensive will give me problems. I never had this problem until today when I updated the drivers.

I've tried reinstalling almost anything you can imagine. Games, Drivers, Catalyse Control Panel. It always come out the same with the games. I don't know if my card is dying or it's a software issue. The case temp seems fine it's running cool at 36.8 C. The case isn't dirty because I just built a new comp. Window and programs are updated. Don't know what else could be wrong. Do I need a new video card???

check video card temps... have you ever overclocked it, or changed a heatsink on it?
try installing some old drivers, or some 3rd party drivers like
