Default video card purchase

pardon any spelling errors. I am on a pocket pc. you night have seen my post earlier about the sony pc I purchased for $1500. I know you think I over paid but I had no interest in building my own and I wanted the liquid cooling system. (plus no payments fo 6 months help haha) anyway, the only thing I want to upgrade is the video card which is a x300 (its a video editing computer so the card does fine with 2d) so basically I just wanted anu suggestions you guys have for a mid range low price card. (i play mostly hl source and battlefield) i'm leaning towards nvidia cards because they do not tae up 2 pci slots. thanks in advance huys.

low price isn't very descriptive, a budget would be helpful

Good point. I would say no more than $200. I will most likely shop for something on ebay.

the 7600GT and x850xt are both right around there, they are pretty close for performance, but there's a post on the forum somewhere that says the x850 is the better of the two

7600GT all the wa.....wait. I'll have to think about that one. the X850XT is cheaper and might be better.

Those are all significantly under his budget, why not go with the 7600gt?
