I configured a PC on newegg that would just about be equitvilant to the T6420. It came up being 717 USD (Including shipping). Thats $100 more than the T6420 (With a 6800 GS). Why would it be alot better to build?

Like I have said before, when it comes to "budget" machines, it is hard to build a computer cheaper than you can buy from a manufactor. They have the price advantage because of being able to buy the parts in mass. Then when you throw in the software, you see where I am going. That Emachine is upgradeable. The first thing to upgrade would be the PSU, as Emachines are known for having substandard PSUs. So, after upgrading the PSU, then upgrade the video card (it has a PCIe slot), and you should have a decent budget machine.

Can someone recomend a PSU please? When it comes to choosing them I always pick a bad one. I would like it to be as cheap as possible  . Thanks
