Ok so I had my bro bring over Oblivion Elder Scrolls IV to install on my comp (comp A) , we pop the DVD in and my dvd drive freaks out make weird skipping noise. Soooooo I go to my other comp (comp B) and pop the DVD in.
I told it to install the game onto my other comp (comp A) through the network. I told it to install it into comp A's "My Documents" folder from comp B's DVD drive. So install finishes and I come to comp A and cant find it in "my documents" I go to comp B and look everywhere for it, even back on comp b through network. Also used the search function, it only found the shortcutts it had made. But there are shortcuts on Comp Bs desktop and start menu, and game runs on comp B by going through shortcuts (Comp B is slow comp doesnt run game very well at all very very choppy). When I look at target of the shortcuts or hover over shortcut in start menu it gives me this destination...... "C:/Documents and Settings/Owner/NetHood/My Documents on Comp A" I have searched that destination many many times and yes hidden files are showing, but still cannot find the oblivion folder. So my question to you is where is the Oblivion folder? I cannot find it anywhere, is it hidden somehow? It is usable from comp B but still I cant find it, did comp put it somewhere else maybe? HELP! I dont have disk so cant just reinstall and I really look forward to playing this game Please help me out here guys!!My bro is no longer in the state so can not just get cd from him again :/ EDIT-Just checked on Comp B in the add / remove programs in control panel, Oblivion is there listed using like 4,450MB so it is on the comp and the comp does run it, Is it possible that it was installed to some weird spot inbetween the 2 comps but on comp B, I can not find it and its making me sad please help!!! |

you maybe have gotten confused as to where you put it... but you need to look at the idea of running a game from a drive over a network IS BAD! There is a reason people dont do it. It is choppy, it will slow both PC's dpwn... Both Pc's have to be on.. How much room is it really? Install it on both PC's.

^^ I dont have the disk anymore, So I need to find the folder somehow, any ideas of where i could find it. The shortcutts give me that destination :"C:/Documents and Settings/Owner/NetHood/My Documents on Comp A"
and that is where I had told it to install so pretty sure i put it in the right place, but it is not there. probly cause it was going through the network and somthing messed up. I know I shouldnt have installed like that, The only thing I wanna know is if and where I can find the folder. Thanks for the help all! |

ok so the ACTUAL link says
"\\computera/c:/Documents and Settings/Owner/NetHood/My Documents" Show m the link... you can change the computer name if you want. You can go onto the c drive and do a ctrl + f to find the exe.. whatever it is called. Do it on both PCs.

The Link it shows me from the start menu icon to start the game on comp B is,
"C:/Documents and Settings/Owner/NetHood/My Documents on Brent" Brent is comp A it is strange though cause that link doesnt lead to a .exe just leads to that folder :/ I have searched both C drives and can not find it. |
