Post SMART erorr! Please help!

hi all, i have a compaq desktop hear, and when it boots, its giving me this erorr, SMART, Back up and replace, press F2 to boot, i press F2, and it boots. The pc does seam to run ok, but i have a felling that the hard drive may be on its way out. I have checked the bios for a setting to disable the SMART warning and i cant find it. Is there a way i can erase the smart erorr or fix my hard drive? i really don't have any money for a new HD at this time. Thx
