Default PC build advice please

Looking to rebuild from the crap system I have. I'm looking for input as to whether what I have selected is decent, any compatibility issues I missed, and if the prices jive with the equipment. I'm not looking to be told "hey newb that (insert hardware) sucks spend real money and get (insert new hardware). If there is something better for a comparable price then by all means let me know. These were taking from newegg. Thanks in advance.

This card (it's on Auto-notify now, just like the one you've listed):

XFX GeForce 7900 GT EXTREME PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail $315.00

and this mobo:

DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D AMD Motherboard - Retail $122.99

Order this mobo becouse the one you've listed is limited to 2 motherboards per customer.

I should have stated, I looked at the board you suggested, but it does not support SLI as far as I can see.

Comparing the cards, looks like what you stated is better.

It says that it has 2 pci-e slots. You could always go with something like this:
Asus A8N-SLI Motherboard

Both of the boards reccomended to you have onboard sound.

The other core stuff I already have, sound, ethernet, etc... I'm just looking to upgrade the components listed really. In a $1000 budget as well.

So I have had two people recommend two different MB already. Is the one I had selected not good, or is it just for a couple dollars more I can get something better.

Also, I have thought over the SLI thing and after reading some posts here, the 7900GTX is better then two 7900TGT. Correct me if I'm wrong. So I would be better off getting one GTX then two GT since its cheaper. If I really stretch the budget. Or if you can think of a comprimise to some other components to get the GTX and still be at $1000. I can live with one 7900GT though, its not vastly crucial.
