apple intel vs. intel pc

With the new Boot Camp software offered to Apples line of computers I am more seriously looking at getting a Mac. I have been looking for any articles titled Intel Apple vs. Intel PC. Can anyone point me in the direction where I can find some shootouts between the new Apples with Intel processors against PCs with Intel processors? I have a 3.4HT PC now and it is still to slow. I wanted a comp that runs everything as if all programs are loaded into RAM. I don’t like having to wait for programs to load when I am in a hurry. Thanks.

there isnt a CPU out there that can open programs in an instant, mainly due to bottlenecks on the Hard Drives front....

But you must first realise that a mac with "XYZ" specs and a Windows PC with the same "XYZ" specs, are going to perform exactly the same.... the only slow down will come from how the OS handles actions, i hear from others that windows still has the efficiency edge over mac OS... i dont have a mac, i cant verify...

It uses RAM as an extremely fast access hard drive. When I say extremely, I mean it.

no, think about what you're saying, of course it can't open instantly. Yes it will open much quicker than the standard user's computer, but it will NEVER be instantaneous

Your right, I didn’t mean instantly, just faster than a few seconds. The RAM board is a good idea but I think it would still be slower than a raid configuration. Out of curiosity, if anyone comes across and article comparing the new Intel apple and an Intel PC please let me know thanks.

that will make it faster, but doesnt make it instantanious.

I dont know if you guys have heard of it, but they have something called i-RAM, which uses RAM modules as a hard drive, via a SATA port. You can have up to 4x 1GB sticks. And even with this, it still tooko 21 seconds to load a Doom 3 level, so you will never get instant loading.
