Go to best buy or compusa. What do you notice? There's a bunch of win xp computers everywhere and in the corner a few apple computers. Most people who work there probably don't even know what linux is. If you say you want a comp and name what you want in it they probably won't reccomend any apple computers no matter what you say. Oh and the only OS that has people making computers with that OS other then themselves is windows. Its not the quality of the product its their skills in marketing that makes them more popular.

i would proudly wear/use that avatar

what many people miss, is that if you took away windows, no matter how much you linux obsessives preach, if we took it away, you guys would be begging for it back, plain and simple. pc's do work with windows thats why people use windows, why because they want to able to run the common applications. i do not hate linux, i just believe that people do not see the whole picture

Well said...he is true in every word. The world needs Windows. I don't have official facts but I would guess 60% or more of the world runs on Windows.

I like it...love my Vista Home Premium 64bit...never had an issue in over 2 years yet

I was thinking about trying Linux on my laptop

Just a note to who ever is going to say 'way to bump an old thread' to Scout (and I know someone will ) this was bumped by a new user posting about GoDaddy and some other webhost, I moved the post out to internet discussion.

As for the topic on hand...I think we all know Linux and Windows both have their place.
