Default Parts Help w/ $900-$1000

Hey guys,

I am trying to put together a computer system for my cousion and he has around $900-$1000 to spend on it... He is going to need a monitor too.

I was wondering if anyone could help with a good config for this amount of money. Thanks!

I forgot to mention... He wants it for gaming. I just found a config I set up for a pc I wanted to build and it will work pretty good for him too... I just need to lower the price of some of the parts to be able to afford a monitor. He wants a lcd screen. Here are my specs... let me know what you would do to bring the cost down a bit so he can afford a screen as well...

Case - Retail $44.99
eVGA GeForce 7800 GT 256MB PCIe Video Card w/ Free eVGA 133-K8-NF41 Motherboard $359.99
Superflower 550W TT-550SS (+3.3V@35A, +5V@50A, +12V@30A) $54.99
Crucial Ballistix 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM System Memory - Retail $109.99
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Venice 1GHz FSB 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor - Retail $201.00
Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 250GB 3.5" Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM $108.00
SONY Black IDE DVD-ROM Drive Model DDU1615/B2s - OEM $22.00

Total + Shipping = $977

Please let me know what you would downgrade to be able to afford a monitor. Thanks!
