This may sound like a n00b question, but im about to make a good new computer over a long time (coz im working and all, making small amounts of money whilst i attend school) and i don't really want to have to upgrade my RAM in one go, i want to get a new mobo and CPU (im upgrading from a P4 to an athlon not sure which one yet, all depends on pricing etc.) but i don't want to have to buy new RAM to use them just yet, i currently have 512 of DDR2 and i seem to only be able to find mobo's that use DDR400

is there any difference in them? if so, which is better?

what i really want to do is buy the mobo and CPU and use my current RAM GPU PSU etc on it, then upgrade them later, although i don't want to get a mobo that uses DDR2 if DDR400 is better

see what im getting at?

anywho, any help would be much needed
