Exclamation Graphic Card Issues

It's not really an issue but I am contemplating on which AGP graphic card (motherboard is old so I can't get a PCI-E) I should get. I am trying to fit my needs to play WoW, and BF2. I also have 1GB of RAM so all I am focusing on is a new video card. I currently have an ATI Radeon 9600XT 128MB DDR (OC'd) and I am either going to get a:

- ATI Radeon X850XT AGP 8X 256MB
- Nvidia Geforce 6800GS AGP 8X 256MB
- Nvidia Geforce 6800GT AGP 8X 256MB

My budget is currently around $180, and I am going to the computer fair today so it can be cheaper. Do you guys have any idea which one I should get? If none of those three, which other graphic cards do you recommend for my needs to play WoW, and BF2?

From what I understand, the 6800GS is the bomb card for AGP. I've never used one but I know someone who does and he plays WOW on it and gets anywhere from 35-45FPS. He's got everything pretty much maxed out and it plays smoothly. Not sure about BF2 though.

Lightbulb Graphic Card Questions

Hi I am just wondering how much these graphic cards would cost (including the fact that they're going to be at a computer fair):

- ATI Radeon X850XT 256MB AGP (Not the PE)
- Nvidia GeForce 6800GT 256MB AGP
- Nvidia GeForce 6800GS 256MB AGP

Also based on your opinion, which is the best out of the 3? Thank you and hope to get some information back.

X850XT is the winner here, with it you can play every game on maximum, I have flashed my card with X850XT bios, have 16 pipes and get a score of 6200 in 3DMark05 (X850XT with lower GPU clocks), the only bad thing is the shaders (vertex and pixel) but that won't slow you down in games.

I get around 70 fps on everything maxed out.

Agreed, assuming you can find the AGP version at a reasonable price. Also be aware that the X850XT has a 2-slot cooling design, and is rather loud.

If you can't find that, the 6800GS would be next on my list (the 6800GT is better, but far more expensive). Be aware that the clock speeds on the AGP version of the GS are lower than that of the GT, but the AGP GS can be unlocked.

Also, this really should be in the Video Cards section
