I have 4 Dell, 2 HP, 1 E-machine desktop, 3 Dell laptops and 1 Acer laptop in my possesion. How many problems have I had with any of them? 0 Call it luck, call it what you will. The oldest Dell machine I have is an old XPS D300 with P2 300Mhz chip. Still runs like a champ since day 1 without a single problem. If Dell or HP or whomever is what you want, get it. As long as you get it setup right, you should've have any problems. I even went to Dells outlet and bought a Dimension desktop for one of my kids and only paid 300 bucks for it. It does more than enough for what you wanna do with one. Oh and BTW, anybody who ever tells you that HP is junk, tell them to take a good look inside of one. They use ASUS motherboards, Seagate drives, Foxxconn power supplies etc. The same parts we buy to build our own machines. Of course, they're cheaper for them and are usually tailored for them but, from the same manufacturers.
