Default I can't download with Firefox:(

For some reason I can't download _anything_ in Firefox. When I try to download something, the "Firefox has encountered an error and needs to close" box comes out and Firefox shuts down. It happens all the time and it's really annoying. I have the latest version of Firefox (1.5.0.1) so what could be the cause?

Also, is there a way to remove the Firefox upgrade? (I have a hunch that the upgrade may be the culprit). Thanks.

No dont get Opera. Firefox is way better. Just reinstall Firefox and that should fix the bug.

The exact same thing was heppening to me recently. I posted on bugzilla and it turned out to be a simple fix (gotta love open source software); a file had been duplicated and I had to delete it.

Try this link: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=331393

It should take you to the bugzilla entry for this bug. The fix is way at the bottum.

I tried reinstalling Firefox and it was still the same. And then I tried the fix recommended by by pbdr and now I can download again! Thanks, pbdr!!

By the way, in my misery (and because I can't stand using IE) I downloaded and installed Opera. It's a pretty good browser, but I still love Firefox

You can't beat Firefox, Opera is just to "loud" for me... Something simple should look simple, like Firefox
