Default My new budget system!

Is there any games I will not be able to play? I chose to get the best video card I could but that did not leave me enough money to get a new mother board and cpu that I wanted so I am still using my celeron d 2.93ghz and I dont know how much that will effect my performance when playing the latest games? It over clocks real nice though I am getting 3.4 right now and its stable, I tested it with (cpu burn in) and it passed and if I got water cooling system I bet I could squeeze 3.6 maybe 3.7 out of it! My system specs are in my sig. I use the computer for mostly video editing, photo shop and office work but my kids want to be able to play the latest and greatest games so I tried to build something to please everyone. How do you think this will perform as is for games? And what would you recommend that would perform better for games and still be able to perform as good for what I use it for? I will have about $400 for a mobo cpu upgrade next month. Or should I water cool it and try over clocking alittle more?

seems to me like you should be alright, if you wanted to go hardcore you should get an amd processor. an amd athlon 64 fx would be good.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103558

that ones 2.8ghz, so that would be equivilant to 3.8ghz intel and you can overclock this one, so it would be as if you were running at almost 4.5ghz.

the downfall is that it is 800 bucks.

^this one here is a cheaper solution only 300 bucks 2.4ghz(3.4 intel) and it could most likley be overclocked to 3ghz(4 intel) very easilly

hope that helps

I wouldn't waste the money water cooling a Celeron.

The AMD X2 3800+ with a supporting board such as the Asus A8R-MVP or A8N-E would be a good choice, although things may change between now and then.

I wouldnt consider it a budget CPU, in fact its one of the top-of-the-line cpu's. It's just a budget processor in the AMD X2 line.

Its a budget chip, but you shouldnt have any problems playing the latest games for a while.

Just get a Venice chip, a nice board and some better memory. If nothing dual core fits that is.
