New Here Hi All Help NEEDED

Hi i have a sony vaio laptop when i turn it on it comes up with a black screen saying windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\WINDOWS\system32\config\SYSTEM

You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original setup cd-rom.

Well the thing is this is where i get stuck i have three recovery disk which is including windows xp home edition on these disk but i have no item on how to fix this problem when i use these disk the problem just comes right back.

If anyone has any help they could lend i would be very grateful thank you in advance nikki

Ps i was thinking mayb the registry was corrupt and everytime i'm using the recovery disk its reloading the same problem back in.

Yea most likely the registry is corrupt... if u may have burned a copy of windows(Not that youd do that of course) it could be because of that... Some burning software will not correctly copy cds like that... therefore corrupting the files and registry

Thanks For That Do You Have Any Idea How I Install Windows Xp From The Recovery Cds Because So Far All I'm Getting Is The Same Problem Over And Over Again Thanks Nikki

Try putting in the CD's and boot off of them. Sometimes, the instructions or printed on the CD's or the booklet that came with it.
